WorkshopOptimum utilization of Resources

CMC has organized a WorkshopOptimum utilization of Resources “on 20th July 2011 for students. The idea behind the workshop was to inculcate management skills in the future managers. Students were divided into two groups (six students each) and told to put on their thinking caps and design creative dresses out of old newspapers using staplers. One of the students from both the groups was made to wear the dress with a theme. The students were asked to explain as to why they chose a particular dress and theme. The student wearing the dress was asked to do a ramp walk as well. The girls group was adjudged the winner as per public poll.

 

From this exercise students learnt the following things:

Maximum utilization of available resources.

  • Time Management
  • Effective Coordination
  • How to work as a team
  • Thinking out of the box.

Workshop on Leadership

On May 14.05.11 a half day workshop was organized by Rai Business School, Delhi for students of Semester II & III. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Raj Kamal Gupta, VP HR Lurgi India.

The Workshop was based on leadership and roadmap to success. The entire workshop was very interactive and the students had to perform a lot many activities based on leadership etc. The students were divided in to small teams of 5 members each and they were told to perform different activities. The entire workshop went on for 3 hours and the students were told about personality and attitude building etc. The students were given many practical examples.

The workshop was very interesting and was really liked by students.

Workshop on Resume Writing

As an extension of our activities for the improvement of our students Career Management Cell had organized a two days workshop on Resume Writing on 28th and 29th September 2010 .The six hours workshop was actually a first step towards acquainting the students with the corporate demands. It was designed to make the students aware of the resume writing skills which is the prime requirement of getting a dream job.
The workshop was chaired by Mr. Pankaj Sharma- Head, Career Management Cell. The workshop covered the following topics:

1) Sample Resume Format

2) Do's and Don'ts of Resume

3) Highlight the achievements

4) How a student can justify their objectives and strengths.

After the workshop, the students had a fair idea of making a resume apt for the corporates

 
Workshop on Team Work

Rai Business School organized a workshop on “The Importance of Teamwork” by Jeevan Deep Sehgal on November 16th, 2010. The students of first semester learnt the significance of this word through various activities that were a part of this workshop. The pros and cons of teamwork were discussed at length by the speaker to make the students understand the concept of it in the corporate world. All this was illustrated with a group activity called “Castle in the air” that helped them comprehend the importance of teamwork in the real corporate world.


Workshop on International Business

On Wednesday, 31 March 2010, Rai Business School, Delhi organized one-day workshop on International Business. The main objective of the workshop was to bring in the practical information to the students and to generate interest towards international business through various creative activities. Workshop was started with an inaugural introduction to international business by Dr. K.V Narrasimham, which was very informative with statistics and ideas. The first session was taken by Prof. Vikram Saxena who discussed about the concepts of international business through world maps wherein he described about the global positioning of various economic indexes. The session concluded with Geographical Indications as a marketing tool for international business which was taken by Prof. Sandeep Srivastava.

Workshop on Retail

A workshop on retail was convened on 9th April 2010 in the campus to discuss retail industry, it's future in India, employment opportunities in the retail industry and its various concepts such as customer service, product knowledge, customer handling etc. There were two guest lectures in the workshop. The resource person for the first guest lecture was Mr. Bhaskar Bhatta Bharniram, Training Manager, Bharti Retail and the the second guest lecture was Mr. M. K. Suresh, Zonal Head, Aditya Birla Retail Limited. Both the speakers are adept in their respective domain as they have been a part of the industry for more than 15 years. Their experience spanned store operations to training and merchandising in various big retail companies such as Reliance, Wal-Mart, Tata, P&G etc. Both the speakers covered intricate details about the Retail industry along with it's employment opportunities in India. They answered student's queries as they showed keen interest in lectures. Curious students found the lectures interesting and enjoyable. The lectures were coupled with a skit competition where five teams participated. Theme included product knowledge, organised and unorganised retail, customer service, customer handling etc. Their performance was judged by Prof. Wahie and Ms. Kavita Thapiliyal. The best team got the prize and certificate of achievement. The whole day proved to be quite informative and an active day for the students.

Workshop on Marketing

On Monday, 19th April 2010, Rai Business School, Delhi organized one-day workshop on "SELL THE MARKETING" a-360 Degree Marketing workshop in just 360 minutes. The workshop was organized by Prof. Radhika Malhotra and Prof. Sandeep Srivastava. The main objective of the workshop was to make the students familiar with the practical aspects of selling. The workshop highlighted the current industrial scenario of the market. A 360 degree marketing workshop referred to the three phases. The first phase included marketing as need of the hour which focused on the changing consumer behaviour in which the students were categorized into different category of consumers with the help of self-assessment quiz. The second phase included communication and brand impact in which they discussed about selling through video cases and role plays. The third phase included the changing roles of services wherein insight into various service sectors were given with case studies and quiz. Finally, the workshop was concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.
