Rai Business School Bangalore got the
doyens speaking to the students on October 14 at the campus during the "Ignited

fall 2006 Session RBS hosted three eminent speakers: Mr. Balaji

India and Dr. Anil Kulkarni, IIT-B, PhD, Professor, Pennsylvania State
University, US. Prof. K. Balasubramanian Regional Director, RBS,
Bangalore in his introductory words established an interesting link
between the stand-alone topics. It's a regular practice RBS to give
students grounding in the realities of the corporate world.
The lectures were aimed at enhancing students' understanding of current
trends, future challenges and industry demands in terms of professional
knowledge. Mr. Balaji himself a product of premier institutions and a
successful entrepreneur presented various aspects of 'E ntrepreneurship'
and what a prospective entrepreneur must know before embarking on an
industrial or business venture. Mr. Balaji has brought out the concept
of trade off between the time and earnings during the different stages
of entrepreneurship. Mr. Verma's lecture on ' Lateral Thinking '
provoked the audience to shift their thinking patterns away from
entrenched and predictable to new or unexpected ideas. He started the
discussion on lateral thinking in our daily life then swiftly moved to
business situations. Prof. Kulkarni discussed about the major dynamic
reality, which is being faced by modern-day organization in the business
across culture, in his talk on ' Professional Ethics & Business.'
The multifaceted participation from other Business Schools and corporate
members made the whole session a learning experience. This was in continuation
of the several lectures RBS students had in a span of 9 weeks by professionals
from the industry leaders like: Wipro, Oracle, etc. Regional Director
K. Balasubramanian said that the series was in synch with the quality
parameters set by RBS, Bangalore. Our faculty and students always vie
to exceed the expectations.
